Molly Nilsson, best known for her collaboration with John Maus, “Hey Moon,” has just released a hypnotic and seductively simple video for “Lend Me Your Love.” The distorted D.I.Y. shots are little more than two inverted-color home videos that juxtapose a professional looking pole-dancer with a backyard crump-dancer. The product is a visual dichotomy of society’s ascribed gender seduction—the tempting female and the aggressive male. The inverting of color, however complicates the narrative. Ideological reversal perhaps?
