April, 4th, 2014. For Nicola Formichetti's debut as Creative Director for Diesel came last night in Venice, and it looked as if only the most brazen of VIPs were invited to the F/W '14 show. Courtney Love, Rinko Kikuchi and Asia Argento were some of the more notorious guests that made the trek to Italy for their dear friend's repurposed-punk runway party, and from the looks of Twitter, those variables added up to some wild aftermath. Rebellious attendees were in keeping with the show's theme, built upon three classic Diesel hallmarks: "Leather-Rock 'n' Roll, Denim, and Military-Utility." As the press release sent out today stated, "These icons encompass a view of the past and a route to the future for Diesel."
Each section was interspersed with a film made by long-time Formichetti collaborator and photographer Nick Knight, and the show's fanfare didn't end there. Choreographer and former Royal Ballet dancer Ivan Putrov led a team of dancers, and last but not least, the audience was privy to a special live performance made by another Formichetti collaborator, Brooke Candy, who performed her latest single, "Opulence" before the show's finale.
