What you thought was just Miley gone mad is turning into a movement. From Nicki Minaj’s “Stupid Hoe” to Lil’ Jon’s unstoppable “Turn Down For What?,” twerk is now officially a big part of pop. Also on board is L.A. producer Virgil Valdez, aka Saint, who’s spent the last year helping turn the ubiquitous move into a proper genre. The West Coaster has released tracks with some of New York City’s hottest underground rappers, like Cakes Da Killa (“Saki Bomb”) and Dai Burger (“Tamagotchi”). Catching the attention of known twerk-enthusiast and heavyweight producer Diplo led to airplay on “Diplo and Friends,” BBC Radio 1, and NY’s Power 106. On the precipice of his debut album IMMACULATE, V reached out to Saint for a VMIX we could sweat to. WARNING: This mix is for professionals—Twerk your heart out Miley.
