Danish post-punkers Reptile Youth are becoming notorious for NSFW vids, and this one for "Morning Sun," premiering here on VMAN.com, takes that hashtag proudly as well. Directed by John Londono (who made that witchy dreamland for Grimes's "Nightmusic"), it tells the story of a regular kid with a libido of gold and a fantasy night planned out. (No spoilers—the song title refers to that familiar feeling after a false sense of a wild night's longevity, and the video is painfully aware of that emotion.)
Here at VMAN, we like our premiere videos raunchy, with a healthy does of real life, as arguable as that cinematic concept may be. We don't shy away from depictions as stark as this one (like other magazines and media outlets may—not that we're naming names), as long as they're this rad. "Morning Sun" is from Reptile Youth's selftitled LP, produced by Mark Ralph (Hot Chip) and Dave M. Allen (The Cure), released on HFN. Reptile Youth Remixed is out May 6th.
