Summer Guide 2019: Hanami Terrace at Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch
For our inaugural Summer Guide 2019 pick, take a look at the latest partnership between The House of Suntory and Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch.
Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch may feel exclusive in its own right, but their latest Hanami Terrace brings a whole new layer of sophistication to the hospitality group’s London offshoot. The terrace, a team effort between the hotel and The House of Suntory, brings the Japanese tradition of cherry blossom season to contemporary dining with terrace-exclusive experiences
The terrace is inspired by the Japanese Cherry Blossom, or Sakura, whose season holds cultural significance in Japan. Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch brings the Japanese practice of dining under the Cherry blossom to all of the senses: the terrace is even scented, surrounded by pink foliage. Bringing the spirit of the season to London rings true to both brands, which focus on the quality of modern Japanese life.
The cocktails, developed with The House of Suntory and Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch’s Beverage Manager Wilfried Rique, include Toki and Chita whiskey, Roku Gin and recent Suntory addition Haku Vodka. The food is a hearty mix of both Japan and London’s culinary staples: Shoreditch Style Fish & Chips, Harumaki Snow Crab Shiso Salsa. And if neither the food or cocktail menu suit your fancy, the blossom-adjacent terrace also offers afternoon tea.
The Hanami Terrace is now open to the public. Head to the Nobu Hotel London Shoreditch’s website for more information. See photos of the terrace below.
