Hayley Williams Update — A New Plan for Her Album

Hayley Williams tweets a virtual hug and Petals For Armor album update.

After releasing the first part of her EP back in early February, Hayley Williams is offering an update. Her new album, PETALS FOR ARMOR, has unfortunately been delayed due to induced anxiety involving COVID-19. Reasonably so, a new release plan has been developed.

Instead of dropping another EP’s worth of song, each song from PETALS FOR ARMOR II will be released individually. Williams’ expressed, “My hope is that in doing this, there will be something new to look forward to as the strange days roll by.” The topics covered in some songs are sensitive to the artist, and amongst a wave of uncertainty towards the near future — she wants to offer a sense of consistency. The second set of songs will take up space and create opportunities for comfortable connection versus delivering the album in an overwhelming heap.

Yesterday, Williams released “Roses/Lotus/Violet/Iris. The new song features vocals by Phoebe Bridgers, Julien Baker, and Lucy Dacus. The artwork is from Mike Kluge and the official audio is linked below. Read the full statement Paramore’s, Hayley Williams sent out via Twitter.
