Bvlgari Hosts Third “Innovating the Present for a Sustainable Future” Webinar
The webinar aimed to look at the Roman jeweler’s social welfare activities
Bvlgari hosted the third iteration of its “Innovating the Present for a Sustainable Future” webinar which served as a look into the brand’s corporate social responsibility endeavors. The digital event was moderated by Eleonora Rizzuto, CSR Director Bvlgari Group and LVMH Italian Brands, and featured Bvlgari CEO Jean-Christophe Babin, Dr. Richard P. Lifton, President of The Rockefeller University, and Janti Soeripto, President and Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children US.
The webinar focused on the three main pillars of Bvlgari’s CSR activities: health research, art preservation and the child welfare. Bvlgari launched its “Bvlgari Virus Free Fund” in an effort to aid the combat against COVID-19 and other diseases. It partnered with the Rockefeller University to establish the “Bvlgari Women & Science Fund to Accelerate COVID-19 Research.” The fund also created 9 Bvlgari Women & Science Fellowships in COVID-19. The fellowship will support female graduate students and postdoctoral fellows who are working on Coronavirus research. This aligns with Rockefeller’s Women & Science program, which has been supporting female scientists involved with the university since 1997.
As part of its art preservation efforts, Bvlgari announced that it would be the main sponsor of the restoration of over 90 ancient Greek and Roman statues. These artifacts are part of the Torlonia Collection, one of the world’s prime private ancient art collections, preserved by the Torlonia Family. The restored statues will be unveiled to the public in a traveling exhibition called “The Torlonia Marbles: Collecting Master-pieces.” The exhibition will premiere this October at Villa Caffarelli in Italy.
Bvlgari’s partnership with Save the Children announced that they would expand their “Arte de Bvlgari” initiative. The program started out in 2019 in the greater Houston area and will now be expanded to California. The program aims to provide after-school art programs and activities for children across the San Bernardino County. It aims to do so in COVID times by also providing them with art kits, remote learning capability and virtual lessons.
