V Magazine Staff Picks Their Favorite Moment In Our History
Take a walk down the V memory lane!
As V (and the rest of the world) closes out the year 2020, we wanted to take a look back at the last 21 years of our publication and spotlight some of our favorite moments throughout our history! We asked some of our staff to select one show-stopping moment and tell us why it resonates with them!

My Favorite V Moment: V127 Feat. Jaden Smith
“With the election causing major anxiety, I was so proud to work on an endeavor that I believe made an impact urging people to vote. The cherry-on-top was seeing all of the team’s hard work pay off with Joe and Kamala taking the White House!”
Nicola Bernardini de Pace, Associate Publisher/Advertising Director // (@nicolabdp)
My Favorite V Moment: V54 Feat. Gisele Bundchen
“It was the first V cover I came across in my father’s office when I was 13-14 years old!”
Kevin Ponce, Social Media Manager // (@thekevinponce)
My Favorite V Moment: The New York Issue!
“This was one of the first V covers I searched high and low to get. Being born and raised in New York, I couldn’t have imagined a more beautiful, sexy, eccentric, and bold tribute to the city I love. I mean, come on—Lady Gaga as Lady Liberty with Marc Jacobs, in a shopping cart with a custom V made from chewing gum by Dan Colen. It’s perfection!”

My Favorite V Moment: It’s a three-way tie!
” V Magazine took a stance this year when it mattered most. While mid-pandemic and at the height of the BLM protest, V partnered with supermodel Gigi Hadid to produce an art book that amplified the voices of artists of color from around the world. A few months later, V connected V126 cover-star Laura Harrier with academy award-winning film icon Halle Berry, documenting their discussion on struggles women of color face in the industry daily. Closing out the year on a high note, V released a vote-themed issue with the hopes of getting young people motivated to go out and vote in the 2020 presidential election!”

My Favorite V Moment: Taylor Hill by Yorgos Lanthimos
“This has always been one of my favorite photoshoots. Taylor and Yorgos captured this sort of eerie suburban glamour that felt relatable but elevated, even strange. After a year of staying at home, these images felt all the more powerful.”
Owen Myers, Editorial Consultant // (@owenmyers)
My Favorite V Moment: V69 Feat. Nicki Minaj
“Nicki’s first V cover bottled her eccentricity and turned it up to 11, with Juggalette make-up and bold body paint. For too long, fashion magazines ignored women in hip-hop. After this cover, no longer.”
Shibo Chen, Associate Art Director // (@shibochen)
My Favorite V Moment: V126 Feat. Laura Harrier
“Really proud that we were able to produce such a beautiful issue at that time. Everything looks amazing in the actual print issue; the gatefold, the cover, and the inside stories. I even stayed up until 1 AM to upload this issue to the printer!”
