Having support along your entrepreneurial journey can be the difference between success and failure. While many people find themselves facing unsupportive family and friends when they start their own business, Nathalie Nicole Smith has gotten support all of her life, and it shows through her work.
Nathalie Nicole Smith has created a beauty line called Plush, published a best-selling book, and started a coaching business called “Women Who Boss.” Her interest in going out on her own and achieving her dreams started at an early age, with support from her father. In fact, she thinks her journey to success started when she was in the womb. “My father never babied me,” Smith said. “He didn’t want me to think I was weak just because I was a girl. He even had a special nickname for me. He called me ‘Junior’ to show that I could be as strong and intelligent as a man.”
Nathalie was reciting mantras at country clubs when she was only five years old, and she’s been preparing for her success for all her life. Her father is still supportive of her efforts. “He’s so proud of me. He loves that I work for myself and that I have so many irons in the fire. I love spending time with him and telling him about my work.”
While she loves beauty and has made over $5 million in sales from her company Plush, her newest passion is helping women achieve their dreams. Her Women Who Boss program strives to help women live and fulfill their purpose. “I want women to understand that they’re all worth it. Not everyone is fortunate enough to have a cheerleader for themselves like the one I had in my dad, but I believe I can play that role for my clients,” concluded Nathalie.
Mindset is one of the most important things when it comes to starting your own business. Since Nathalie had the support from her father from a young age, she was able to make plans early to achieve her dreams.
