Bianca Saunders wins the Grand Prize at the 32nd Andam Fashion Award
The ANDAM Fashion Award results in exciting winners
The 32nd ANDAM Fashion Award took place last night and it didn’t disappoint in bringing fashion lovers what they want. Held in person with a socially distanced award ceremony and jury meeting, the grand prize winner this year is London based men’s wear designer Bianca Saunders.
Known for finding an exciting balance between the effeminate and the masculine in elevated men’s wear, Saunders’ won the 300,000 euros against her competition that included AREA, Casablanca, GmbH, Ludovic de Saint Sernin, ROKH, and Wales Bonner.
Presenting for the first time in Paris, Saunders said on ANDAM’s Instagram, “It’s been a lifelong dream with fashion and Paris. It was such a lovely day. I presented in front of the judges. They’re all people that I’ve been thinking about being since my career has started.”
Saunders will also have a mentorship with Cédric Charbit, CEO and President of Balenciaga.
Founded in 1989, the Grand Prize of the fashion award has gone to fashion icons such as Martin Margiela, Viktor & Rolf, Jeremy Scott and more along with three other prizes, the Pierre Bergé Prize, Accessories Prize, and the Innovation Prize.
The Pierre Bergé Prize, named after the award’s former president, went to EGONlab and won 100,000 euros as well as mentorship from Artistic Director of Longchamp, Sophie Delatontaine. The French brand won over Charles de Vilmorin, Ester Manas, and UNIFORME.
The Accessories Prize and 50,000 euros went to Paris based leather goods maker Aswad over competitors Published By and Samuel François Jewelry. Sonia Ahmimou will receive mentorship and personal guidance from Giovanna Engelbert, fashion editor, stylist, and Swarovski’s creative director.
The Innovation Prize went to sustainable material company Spinnova from Finland that can make material out of wood or waste.
