Danish fashion house Han Kjøbenhavn has presented their first women’s collection at Milan Fashion Week under the direction of founder and artistic director Jannik Wikkelsø Davidsen. As the brand grows and turns its focus to womenswear, the ready-to-wear collection, entitled “Sculping Darkness,” features a simple color palette with black dominating against cream and a neon pink.

“It has always been our aim to present our collections at the highest level. Showcasing our pret-á portier women’s collection in Milan is something that I have been looking forward to for quite a while,” said Davidsen. “We have developed a lot and I feel we are in a good place artistically, aesthetically, and from  a craftsmanship point of view.”

Using darkness as a source of inspiration, Davidsen translates that emotion into sculptural garments that convey a sense of objectivity. With statement fabrics like faux fur, wrapped leather and silk velvet, 3D titanium details direct tailored and sharp edges. Voluminous silhouettes contrast sleek design, adding to the ambiguity of the brands creative vision.
