G-SHOCK’s New Metallic Women’s Watch Series Sparkles

The iconic brand is bringing us two new styles with a metallic twist

Whether you’ve seen Casio’s G-Shock on the wrist of A-list actress Kristen Stewart while walking a red carpet, Eiza González in a Micheal Bay action film, on stage with K-pop girl group ITZY or in a Gwen Stefani music video, the iconic watch has transcended time as a piece of cultural iconography. The nearly-industrial style carefully blends aesthetic with function, creating a product that was and remains a wrist-staple and quintessential silhouette that is slim, compact, and perfect for everyday wear. Now, the iconic timepiece is getting a major refresh with the new female-focused G-Shock Women’s Shimmering Metallic Accent Series, modeled after the beloved style with an elevated twist.

First created in 1983, 40 years later the G-Shock remains as popular amongst outdoor enthusiasts as it is amongst A-list celebrities and fashion icons. For many the Casio style is a symbol of nostalgia, transporting us back to Y2K styles – perhaps on the wrists of Justin Beiber in the early 2000s or Keanu Reeves ’90s. Beyond the watch’s celeb adorers, the G-Shock has come to be intertwined with streetwear, often the center of sold-out collaborations with lifestyle brands like CLOT, Stussy, and Jordan Brand. Still, the watch brand continues to be a staple today – and one that is ever-evolving.

The newest evolution? The G-Shock Women’s Shimmering Metallic Accent Series, a lighter, thinner iteration of the chunky style.  The series will be available in two colorways – light rose gold and light gold – both featuring sparkling metallic faces that bring a stylish shimmer to the design. Paired with the watch’s matte exterior, the sparkling combination elevates the perfectly-casual style, creating a harmonious design that elegantly achieves an effortless yet elevated accessory for the modern women. Versatile and adaptable, the accent series is the ultimate addition whether you’d pair your watch with your favorite athleisure or with a night-out look.

And beyond being known as a beloved classic, there is little that rivals the G-Shock in terms of technology – which makes perfect sense considering Casio’s legacy as a leader in the electronics industry. Just like its predecessors, the Accent Series maintains all the features that set G-Shock apart from the rest including shock resistance, 200 meter water resistance, LED super illuminator lights, 5 daily alarms, 1/100-second stopwatch, a countdown timer, flash alter, and more. Stainless steel buttons and simple mode indicators similarly blend functionality with chicness, adding to the clean look of the watch without sacrificing readability.

The two styles–able to be found herewill retail for $99 and will be available for purchase at select retailers, the G-SHOCK Soho store, and their website
