Pucci and The Webster Collab to Kick Festival Season Into Full Swing

The Italian fashion house has partnered with the luxury retailer to create a collection inspired by the festival we all know and love.

Since the inaugural Coachella in 1999, the festival in the California desert has become as intrinsic to American culture as football or barbecues. With the rise of the internet and, subsequently, influencers, Coachella has managed to stay a focal point of popular culture year after year. While some of this notoriety can be attributed to the festival’s ability to snag the hottest musicians in the game (Bad Bunny and BLACKPINK are two of this year’s headliners) – but this fame is largely due to the way that young people have turned the festival into an almost mythic pilgrimage, that also happens to be perfect for Instagram photos.

Since the days of festivals past, music festivals have always been a hot spot for fashion. Especially in the age of influencer excursions to the festival sponsored by fashion brands, the expectation is that you go big or don’t go at all. Knowing this as any good fashion brand does, Pucci, the Italian brand founded by Emilio Pucci in 1947, has decided to throw their hat into the festival ring.

The Florentine fashion house recently announced that they were partnering with iconic luxury retailer, The Webster, to launch a collection of festival-inspired frocks. They have dubbed the collection Iride – which they have described as “a vibrant, free-spirited, and playful collection representing the shared expression of style and mood that connects Pucci and The Webster.” Despite its carefree nature, the collection is also strategic, the announcement and accompanying drop aligning with both the 2023 Coachella festival, and the opening of The Webster’s tenth location in Palm Springs, California.

The 24-piece collection is comprised of anything one may want or need to wear in a festival environment: dresses, skirts, shorts, bikinis, shawls, scrunchies, tote bags, and headbands. The design elements of these pieces are largely taken from past Pucci collections and reimagined for modern times. The psychedelic swirls and Mod-era color pallets are undeniably Pucci, and will make you easy to spot in the desert!

Despite sharing the same color pallets and patterns, the Iride collection is vastly versatile. Embellished and layered with accessories ranging from scarves to hair accessories, along with two colorful fabric bags (a tote and a drawstring purse), this capsule collection offers endless ways to style and makes it perfect for any type of festival activity.

The essence of the collection also speaks to the current zeitgeist in the fashion industry – an affinity for reconstructing vintage styles and patterns for a 21st century wearer. The overall attitude suggests a more insouciant spin on Pucci glamour, extending well beyond the blissful haze of a music-fuelled weekend. With pieces from this collection, the wearer is bound to stand out in the desert crowds. Long live Pucci, and happy festivaling!

The Iride capsule will be exclusively available at The Webster boutiques and thewebster.com, with a strong presence in the Los Angeles and Palm Springs boutique surrounding festival season and select Pucci boutiques and pucci.com.
