The Neighbourhood Drops Music Video Starring Devon Lee Carlson
The music video for the track “Lost in Translation” from their new album “Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones” released yesterday.
The Neighbourhood released their new album Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones , along with a music video featuring Devon Lee Carlson for the song “Lost in Translation” off the album.
Marking their fifth album, Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones sees frontman Jesse Rutherford’s alter-ego, silver-painted Chip Chrome, as the main character in most of the songs, including “Lost in Translation.” In the video, we see Chip perform in a 50s-style, spacey setup, while model/designer/Insta-baddie/Rutherford’s real-life girlfriend/all-around “It Girl” Devon Carlson dances in a chrome bikini and martian green-painted skin behind the band.
Since their musical debut in 2012, the California-based band has always been diverse in their sound: sometimes angsty alternative, sometimes chill, smooth rap, and sometimes pop anthems with heavy guitar riffs. “Lost in Translation” takes on their fun, pop-alt side, with Rutherford’s clean and fresh vocals reminiscing about miscommunications and crossed signals between lovers.
As the third track on the album, “Lost in Translation” teases what’s to follow on Chip Chrome & The Mono-Tones—more catchy tunes from The Neighbourhood, with Rutherford’s impeccably sweet voice and the band’s relaxed, alternative LA vibe.
