Louis Vuitton Unveils Tambour Street Diver Line

The latest version of the signature model combines city life energy with a sporty spin.

Louis Vuitton continues to expand its watch category, this time with its newest spin on the Tambour line: the Street Diver. The new diving watch, which is set to launch by the end of this week, merges elegance and utility in a unique creation.

First released in 2002, the Tambour was inspired by the shape of a drum, with a base larger than the top. The case is crafted from a single metal block and features a caseband that replaces numbers with the 12 letters “L-O-U-I-S-V-U-I-T-T-O-N” to indicate the hours. The Street Diver was updated with sportier elements to create a piece that is suitable not only for (of course) diving, but that will also fit perfectly within the high-energy city life.

The watch features an internal rotating bezel that gives the top of the case a minimal, clean look while also creating a sense of depth. The bezel can be rotated using the watch’s second crown, which features an illustration of a diver to differentiate it from the winding crown positioned at three o’clock.

The Street Diver uses the “Align the V” design concept, in which the letter V on the diving scale can be rotated to align with the color-coordinating V at the end of the minute hand forming an X and starting a timer count – with the first 15 minutes highlighted by a matching arch on the dial.

The new version will be available Friday, April 9th and offered in four different versions, with three automatic models in 44 mm in the colors Skyline Blue, Neon Black, and Black Blaze, and one quartz model in 39.5 mm in Pacific White – all with Super-LumiNova-coated details, 100m water resistance and an easy quick-change strap system to make it even more adaptable to any setting.
