The Maison Cartier has announced its latest global ambassador as Elle Fanning. The actress will also be the face of the Grain de Café collection, which she wore to last night’s buzzy Met Gala. Launched in 1938 by Jeanne Touissant, the Maison’s legendary creative director, the Grain de Café collection became a jewelry favorite during the 20th century. Adopted by iconic figures such as Princess Grace of Monaco, the collection exudes sophistication and glamor.
With shining goldwork reminiscent of the Riviera sun, the pieces are integral to Cartier’s stylistic repertoire. Making the ordinary items look the most precious, diamond and rubellite studs take the shape of a coffee bean, or the Grain de Café.
“I am so proud to become Cartier’s Global Ambassador. The Grain de Café collection embodies so much of what makes Cartier’s style and savoir-faire unique; from exquisite goldwork to the precious transformation of an everyday object,” shared Fanning.
“It is an honor to become the face of a creation that brings together elegance, glamor and radiant femininity.”
Speaking to the selection of Fanning as the new face of the Maison, Arnaud Carrez – Senior Vice President, Chief Marketing Officer at Cartier – had nothing but praise.
“We selected Elle Fanning for her talent, determination and range, which have allowed her to take on a variety of roles in the world of cinema. As our new Global Ambassador, she brings a luminous on-screen presence to the Grain de Café collection and campaign that recalls its most famous wearer, Princess Grace of Monaco.”
