Sean “Diddy” Combs has recently come out with the e-commerce platform Empower Global, a venture intended to exclusively showcase and sell products by Black entrepreneurs and businesses. Having been announced by Diddy back in 2021, he has outlined his commitment to empowering and supporting Black entrepreneurship through this initiative, in which his mission aims to generate opportunities, build successful businesses, and uplift the Black community. In creating this platform, Combs has intricately built the website aligning with his vision of promoting Black entrepreneurship with its design, construction & support accredited to Black-owned tech companies TechSparq and ChatDesk.
Expecting the introduction of new Black businesses monthly, the platform anticipates having more than 200 brands available on the site by the year’s end. In order to increase accessibility, the platform has partnered with UPS in offering special deals and shipping rates in a “Days of Deals” initiative in which sellers can offer discounts on select products and a limited-time offer of free UPS shipping.
The platform has currently launched more than 70 brands and more than 1000 items spanning across beauty, fashion, art, and lifestyle featuring brands such as Kultured Misfits, Buttah Skin, Cool Creative Clothing, Gwen Beloti Jewelry, and Actively Black.
