Roger Federer, Uniqlo Global Brand Ambassador, and tennis legend unveiled a new eponymous collection by JW Anderson, his first ever lifestyle collection, which launches August 28 at Uniqlo’s Fifth Avenue Flagship store; In this pre-celebration event ahead of the launch, Federer also had the chance of discussing the collection, its conceptualization, and offering his own personal insights in a Q&A session with the Menswear Creative Director, Jim Moore.
Following the unveiling event, the famed tennis player didn’t stop there—he made his next stop to MoMA PS1 for his joint event series entitled, ‘UNIQLO’s Around the World with Roger Federer’. The event took place on a KAWS-designed tennis court on which Federer partnered with the Kings County Tennis League with 100 fans in attendance to host a coaching and mentoring session; as part of an effort to merge athletics, art, and culture to inspire aspiring athletes.
Donning pieces from the anticipated collection, the tennis star gave lessons followed by perspective into his own career along with his most current ventures. The event was brought to life with music curated by DJ Stretch Armstrong and a collaborative mural created by Hisham Akira Bharoocha, an NY-based artist; encouraging attendees to contribute to a donated gift destined for the Kings County Tennis League.
