Forever a trailblazer in British outerwear, Burberry is debuting a new campaign, influenced by a slogan, pulled from its archive. Starring celebrities from various professions like actor Barry Keoghan, model/actress Cara Delevingne, English soccer players Cole Palmer and Eberechi Eze, actress Olivia Colman, rapper Little Simz, and actress Zhang Jingyi, the “It’s Always Burberry Weather,” campaign was shot by famed photographer, Alasdair McLellan, throughout London and the British countryside.
Each celebrity is pictured in the seven main styles from the campaign: the trench, the quilt, the Harrington, the puffer, the parka, the aviator and the duffle, which are “all grounded in purpose, functionality and adventure, with a longstanding commitment to providing protection against the elements,” as noted by the brand.
The house has also brought back a logo coined “The Shelter”, which was largely in use from the 1970s to the early 1990s, displaying a man and woman with their backs together, beside two dogs, as the it celebrates Burberry’s long-standing ethos of stylish weather protection.
Corresponding with the release of this new campaign, Burberry’s first storefront located on 57th Street in New York City, will reopen. The redesigned store, which originally opened in 1978, will pay homage to its roots within British luxury. Through its carefully chosen Chesterfield sofas—an emblem of British furniture design—and designs on the railings reminiscent of London streets, Burberry is revisiting its storied brand history.
There will be a selection of menswear, womenswear, and accessories from the Winter 2024 collection available at the reopened location, as well as two new trench coat designs for Burberry customers: the Castleford in peat or stoat, featuring check lining. Six archival replica coats will also be on display to showcase Burberry’s longstanding leadership in the fashion outerwear space.
