At just 20 years old, sombr has already found success in a musical career. His debut album, I Barely Know Her, written entirely by himself and co-produced by himself and Tony Bery (who has worked with artists like Phoebe Bridgers and The Replacements) was released at midnight on August 22nd.

Songs released from the album in anticipation of its release did numbers for the artist. “Back to friends,” “undressed,” and “12 to 12” each hit the Billboard Hot 100 hits and climbed the charts for the Top 40 Radio, Global, and U.S. Spotify Charts, UK Official Singles Chart, Alternative Radio, and Billboard Hot Rock Songs, knocking Hozier off the #1 spot.

In September, sombr will begin his sold-out North American tour, then he will perform his sold-out European, UK, Australian, and New Zealand tour dates. But it all started in the Lower East Side for the New York City-native. sombr, born as Shane Boose, began making music in his bedroom. He attended LaGuardia High School, where he studied classical music. Before his debut album, his first hit “Caroline” was released in 2022, and shook the internet. With numerous EPs and single in addition to I Barely Know Her, the 20-year-old star has over 400 monthly streams across all multiple platforms.
With 10 songs, I Barely Know Her is already making waves, telling a story of heartbreak and longing for a love that is gone forever.
