Rachel Scott Appointed Creative Director of Proenza Schouler

With a strong track record at Diotima and multiple industry honors, the designer brings her perspective to the house and will debut in Fall Winter 2026
Proenza Schouler has appointed Rachel Scott as its new Creative Director, signaling a fresh era for the New York label. Scott, who was born in Jamaica and studied Fashion Design at Istituto Marangoni in Milan, brings an international design perspective and a career that spans Costume National in Italy, Rachel Comey in New York, and most recently her own acclaimed brand Diotima.
Since launching Diotima in 2021, Scott has become one of fashion’s most celebrated emerging voices, winning the CFDA Emerging Designer of the Year in 2023, American Womenswear Designer of the Year in 2024, and the Fashion Trust U.S. 2025 Ready-to-Wear Award.

Her connection to Proenza Schouler began earlier this year, when she joined the house as a consultant, working closely with the Design Studio to shape the upcoming Spring Summer 2026 collection —a preview of her creative direction that will culminate in her first official presentation as Creative Director with the Fall Winter 2026 collection next February.
“I hold deep respect for the beauty and world Jack and Lazaro so brilliantly crafted, and I look forward to bringing my perspective in dialogue with their legacy,” Scott said of her appointment. Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez, the brand’s founders and board members, echoed the sentiment: “Rachel is someone whose work we have always admired. Her trajectory over the last few years has been impressive to watch. We are proud to welcome her to this very special brand and excited to see how she will embrace and evolve the legacy and spirit of what we started”.
With a track record of craft and innovation, Scott steps into one of American fashion’s most influential houses.
