On February 12, Miu Miu premiered the 31st installment of its Women’s Tales series at Village East by Angelika. Titled Discipline, the film is directed by Mona Fastvold and explores femininity as constraint and nurture.

Following the screening, Fastvold was joined by choreographer and filmmaker Celia Rowlson-Hall in conversation with writer and actress Hailey Gates. The discussion explored the film’s ideas and inspirations, and the role clothing plays in encoding identity, gesture, and femininity long before self-awareness takes shape.

The evening continued with a dinner at Chez Margaux, attended by guests including Antoneta Alamat Kusijanović, Kelsey Asbille, Maude Apatow, Towa Bird, Jasmin Savoy Brown, Alexa Chung, Brady Corbet, Nina Dobrev, Paloma Elsesser, Amanda Seyfried, Claudia Sulewski, Dominique Thorne, Stefano Tonchi, and Lola Tung.

Since its founding in 2011, Women’s Tales continues the house’s long-standing commitment to female filmmaking and fashion’s place within contemporary cultural dialogue. Featuring pieces from the Miu Miu Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the clothes become a part of its choreography. As Fastvold notes, “Clothing is never neutral. It is costume, control, ritual.”
