The Prada Fall/Winter 2026 womenswear collection reflected the dynamic realities of women and the complexities of contemporary life. Designed by Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the wardrobe was driven by the art of layering, both as a practical act of dressing and as a metaphor for transformation throughout the day. In this way, the garments moved beyond styling alone, expressing a narrative of self-determination and agency.
In line with this vision, the show took place at the Deposito of the Fondazione Prada, where original artworks, furniture, and objects spanning five centuries carried layered meanings, intimate narratives, and endless possibilities. A cast of fifteen models highlighted the evolving nature of identity. This emphasized how the garments reflected the shifting facets of character while balancing simplicity with complexity. Bella Hadid’s return to the runway, appearing in four distinct looks, further underscored this exploration of transformation and multiplicity. Perspectives shifted through the non-hierarchical mixing of garment types, reinforcing the collection’s fluid approach to dressing.

Throughout the collection, tailoring met sportswear as embroidered satin dresses appeared alongside outerwear and unexpected combinations. These all reflected Prada’s instinctive design language. Within this framework, the looks unfolded through a process of layering and de-layering, with garments shifting in meaning as coats, knits, and dresses were removed to reveal new silhouettes beneath.
The runway heightened this dialogue between refinement and ease through a play of contrasting textures. Translucent overlays and intentionally unconventional styling, where structured shirting met fragile fabrics and vivid accents disrupted a subdued palette. In this sense, fragmented constructions, weathered surfaces, and subtle distortions conveyed the impression of garments shaped by time. Similarly, materiality enriched the narrative. Reworked textiles, faded finishes, and aged embroideries conveyed a sense of memory and lived experience. Meanwhile, archival-inspired dresses emerged within restrained layers, hinting at personal histories revealed over time.
