Moncler Expands its Footwear With New Performance-Led Design

New Trailgrip models and collaborations with Clarks, Rick Owens, Moon Boot, and Fragment Design took center stage in Milan
Presented during Milan Men’s Fashion Week, Moncler used the opening of Casa Moncler, its new Milan headquarters, to outline the future of its footwear division. The preview combined technical product development with a roster of high-profile collaborations. While Moncler remains best known for outerwear, the presentation underscored its growing investment in the performance-luxury space.

Leading the showcase was the Trailgrip Ultra, a new evolution of one of Moncler’s most recognizable footwear silhouettes. Designed for trail running and outdoor use, the shoe combines lightweight materials with technical features including a carbon-fiber plate for added propulsion and a Vibram outsole engineered to provide grip across varied terrain. The presentation also introduced the Citytrek, a sneaker that combines suede and mesh with a Vibram sole.

Among the projects on display was a reinterpretation of Clarks’ Wallabee, updated with weather-resistant materials and a more performance-driven construction. Rick Owens offered his own take on the Trailgrip Megalace Boot, adding the dramatic proportions and unconventional detailing that have become signatures of his work. Moncler Grenoble also partnered with Moon Boot on the Icon High Rodeo, a hybrid style that merges winter-sports functionality with Western-inspired design cues.
The final footwear collaboration remained largely under wraps. Developed with Hiroshi Fujiwara’s Fragment Design, the project revisits both the Clarks Wallabee GTX and the Altive Mid Boot and will launch alongside a ready-to-wear collection later this summer.
