V Go Backstage at Ulla Johnson’s SS27 Show

“We New Yorkers like to flaunt our stuff, and thank God for it.”
“We New Yorkers like to flaunt our stuff, and thank God for it,” wrote Alexandra Schwartz for Ulla Johnson. Inspired by the movement of New Yorkers, both physically and spiritually, Ulla Johnson staged her Spring/Summer 2027 runway show at the newly minted Gotham Park, once a home to skateboarders citywide. The presentation started long before models found their way to the runway, however, when the team planted a variety of flora throughout the space to remain long after the show was over. Backstage, models stepped into makeup crafted by Romy Soleimani using Sisley-Paris Cosmetics and hair designed by Diego Da Silva for Wella. Soon, in a flurry of florals, pastels, lace, and sheer glamour, they traversed the park in the way that only New Yorkers can: with purpose, panache, and so much power.
