Nick Knight Brings Interactive Design to H&M’s London Fashion Week Show

The fashion giant unveiled their F/W 26 line in collaboration with the renowned creative director and image maker

Legendary fashion image-maker and creative director Nick Knight celebrated the intersection of fashion and technology with his curation of H&M’s latest runway show, held in London on September 17. Titled H&M&YOU&I, the Autumn 2026 collection was presented through an interactive installation developed by SHOWstudio, Knight’s platform dedicated to pushing the boundaries of fashion communication.

“This show is a celebration of creativity, and of human relationships…all while experimenting with new technologies,” says Knight. “My mission throughout my career has been to push the boundaries of fashion and stay curious about the next thing. I’m excited that H&M shares that vision.”

The installation featured still images of model Alex Consani and actor Archie Renaux, photographed by Knight, which were animated in real time by the runway models using AI-engineered technology. While many within the fashion industry have raised concerns about AI’s potential impact on creativity and job opportunities, Knight, who has remained a relevant force in fashion for more than 40 years, is among the few established creatives willing to engage with emerging technology head-on.

“Nick Knight is always daring, he never accepts the status quo, and that is an ethos that chimes with all of us at H&M,” says Ann-Sofie Johanss

To further push the tension between human creation and technology, H&M added distinctly human elements to their showcase by opening the runway with a performance by Brazilian ballerina Ingrid Silva, a surprise performance by singer and producer Labrinth, and a spoken word performance by Knight’s main film subjects Consani and Renaux.

“I’ve worked with H&M before but never on something so unique and creative,” says Labrinth.

Beyond the multi-media elements of the show, the collection itself shared the same spirit of innovation and human expression, mixing themes of historical opulence and romantic silhouettes with modern sculptural shapes and elevated tailoring.

Together with Knight’s reconceptualization of the runway, H&M has successfully delivered a fresh perspective on fashion week, reminding us that emerging technology, when combined with intention and the human hand, can become a creator’s most trailblazing tool.
