“I have been thinking about attraction,” designer Aaron Esh said of his Spring/Summer 2027 collection, which debuted at London Fashion Week. “Not romance particularly, but that strange pull towards something before you have decided whether you like it. The thing that makes you look twice. It is rarely about perfection. Usually, there is something else going on.”

Esh’s Spring/Summer 2027 collection captures exactly that feeling: the sense that something else is going on beneath the surface. Neon pinks, vivid oranges, and turquoise punctuated a lineup of sharply tailored jackets and fluid trousers, creating a tension between structure and ease. Rather than revealing everything at once, Esh played with that instinct to look twice, leaving his audience wanting more in the best possible way.

“Spring Summer 27 feels electric. The colours are bright, almost aggressively so. They collide rather than coordinate: unexpected shades sitting beside one another, things that shouldn’t belong together somehow making perfect sense,” Esh said. “There is a feeling of excess without being excessive. Young, but not innocent. Beautiful, but with something slightly strange about it.”

Each look is styled with a distinctly modern sensibility—chic, cool, and grounded in the realities of getting dressed. Some feel made for a night out, others for a day at the office, yet all could conceivably belong in the same person’s closet. Esh understands how to design for one woman who moves through many different worlds, giving her a wardrobe that feels accessible without becoming predictable and distinctive without sacrificing wearability.

“I have always been interested in the point where taste becomes personal. When something is technically wrong but instinctively right. When you see someone wearing a combination you would never have imagined and immediately want to wear it. It is no longer about following rules. It is about instinct,” Esh said. “There is something particular about being young and trying to work yourself out. Wanting to look older, then younger. Wanting to be noticed, then pretending you don’t. The bravado and the softness existing at the same time. The desire to appear certain while everything is actually changing.”

The collection is a deeply personal one for Esh. “My own life has changed in much the same way this year. One thing led to another, then another, and suddenly the landscape looked completely different,” Esh said. “You only recognize the butterfly effect afterwards. At the time, you are simply moving through your life, making small decisions without knowing what they will set in motion.”

That idea of cause and effect runs throughout the collection, where unexpected combinations, clashing colors, and shifting silhouettes come together with a sense of inevitability. In Esh’s world, perhaps everything really does happen for a reason.
