Really, is there anyone who emits quite as much ease and comedic finesse as Meg Stalter?

“I love you New York, I’m gunna let you touch my hands,” Stalter yelled out during the show. So gracious in her appearance, and with a singular ability to make the absurd feel utterly effortless, the actress, best known for her role in HBO’s Hacks, took to Brooklyn’s 3 Dollar Bill on Friday night for a performance that saw her dancing, singing, and, naturally, commanding the room. Or, as Stalter herself dubbed it, “a fully sold-out Madison Square Garden.”

Stalter’s appearance at 3 Dollar Bill was entirely kismet. Originally meant to take the stage at All Things Go, the three-day music festival set to take place in New York, Stalter’s performance at the backup venue was organised in a matter of just three hours. The Nor’easter may have cancelled the festival, but it in no way cancelled Stalter’s sparkle. Styled by Kat Typaldos in a custom Betsey Johnson look, with make-up done by Jake Dupont and electric blue hair courtesy of Sean Michael Bennett, Stalter brought V along for the ride. And really, when Meg Stalter invites you along, you go.
