The Need for Speed: Diego Poncelet Is At Full Speed in Prada

Diego Poncelet is the fastest skateboarder alive, achieving a record-breaking 151.84 km/h with PRADA emblazoned across his suit.
In collaboration with Red Bull and two-time downhill world champion Poncelet, Prada Linea Rossa entered the pursuit of a new benchmark in speed. The result: a watershed moment, achieved on a closed stretch of Route des Éboulements in the Charlevoix region of Québec, Canada.

The run lasted mere moments. The years behind it, considerably longer. Research, training and technical refinement formed the foundation of the record attempt. Working alongside engineers and performance specialists, Poncelet spent years fine-tuning aerodynamics, physical conditioning and control at extreme velocity. At these speeds, every detail counts. Nothing is incidental.
What Poncelet wore was no exception.

Prada Linea Rossa worked closely with the athlete to develop bespoke footwear and gloves, engineered for the demands of downhill skateboarding. Protection, comfort and grip were not competing priorities, but essential components of performance.
The most critical point of contact? Shoes.
Handcrafted to feature a sticky rubber compound combined with a herringbone traction pattern, they were designed to maximise contact with the board and maintain control when the margin for error is all but gone.
At 151.84 km/h, speed is only part of the story. The rest is precision, engineering, and the pursuit of every possible advantage. Even the smallest detail can make the difference.
