A Different Kind of Match Fit: Jude Bellingham for Calvin Klein

The beautiful game just got a little more beautiful.
We may be transitioning from fall to winter, but honestly, with Jude Bellingham fronting Calvin Klein’s Icon Cotton Stretch campaign, things have never been hotter.
Gasps were heard around the world as Bellingham traded his England whites for a pair of tighty-whities. Swapping the football pitch for a spot in front of the camera, the Real Madrid star makes his debut as the face of Calvin Klein, though we certainly hope it won’t be his last.

“You asked… Calvin Klein delivered. The Icon.” Bellingham wrote in an Instagram caption accompanying the campaign. And deliver they did.
Shot by Oliver Hadlee Pearch in Madrid, Bellingham’s home away from home, the campaign captures the footballer’s trademark confidence and unmistakable British finesse through a series of pared-back, effortlessly cool images.
“I really enjoyed working on this campaign,” said Bellingham. “I liked the idea of ‘the icon underneath’ – that confidence starts with feeling comfortable in yourself. Calvin Klein is such an iconic brand, so it was great to bring that idea to life in my own way.”

Bring it to life, he certainly did. The Icon Cotton Stretch collection, which Bellingham wears throughout the campaign, combines comfort, support and timeless design. A winning formula for those in search of everyday essentials, as well as anyone who appreciates a little visual incentive to refresh their underwear drawer.
Making its campaign debut is the new Icon Cotton Stretch Shine Trunk; alongside it, Bellingham dons the Boxer Brief, Low Rise Trunk, Hip Brief and Slim Boxer. I, for one, have never been quite so fascinated by the various cuts of a boxer.

Sporting his signature goal celebration, Bellingham makes a rather convincing case that should he ever decide to hang up his boots, a career in modelling awaits. Preferably, and quite exclusively, in Calvin Klein.
This campaign is as much for the everyday underwear enthusiast as it is for the Bellingham fanatics. Because if the footballer isn’t on the pitch this evening, you can be sure he’ll be popping up on every Explore page, every billboard and, naturally, my iPhone lock screen.
Long live Calvin Klein. And God bless the British.
