Workwear is everywhere now. No matter what type of work someone does, they most likely dress ready for a construction site. Mathew Williams, Creative Director of Givenchy, eyed in on the growing trend for his brand’s, 1017 AlYX 9SM, Spring Summer 2024 collection during Milan Fashion Week.

Thick and textured canvas-based garments centered the collection, which used lived-in feels and over-dyed techniques to give the looks an added sense of character. Distressed jersey and treated leather continue the emphasis on that vintage-esque comfortable feel.

Lightweight nylon pants, mesh vests and shirts, and cupro and poplin cotton sets transform workwear that is often too hot for the summer months into a breathable and versatile collection. Simple designs are marked off by the brand’s signature “A” logo—blended into a few select pieces, from knitwear to the leather intarsia jacket, adding the added luxury to looks that radiate familiarity.

The looks are finished with an expanded footwear lineup. The chunky sole returns, as well as iconic silhouettes including the rugged canvas combat boot and derby shoe, which continue the blend between high fashion and being able to traverse wherever you may end up.
