3 Moncler Grenoble is Unveiled Today

The next collection of Moncler’s Genius series is released today and pays homage to Woodstock and the sixties.

The next portion of the Moncler Genius series has been unveiled: 3 Moncler Grenoble designed by Sandro Mandrino.

But Mandrino is no stranger to the beloved outerwear brand, he has been the Head of Design of the Moncler Grenoble for nearly eight years. It comes as no surprise that he chose to use that brand moniker as his Moncler Genius series name.

To advertise the Moncler Genius series, the website boasts, “One house. Different voices.” It is an opportunity for ten unique artists to showcase their individuality by adding flair to the classic outerwear gear. And for Mandrino’s vision, he wanted to epitomize the psychedelic and galactic themes of Woodstock. 2019 marks the 50th year anniversary and although the actual festival was canceled—the nostalgia from the 60’s lives on today.

It may seem unusual to blend the characteristics of Western attire with ski gear, but Mandrino does this effortlessly.

There is a plethora of pieces to choose from. Scale the side of a mountain wearing a crisp all-white ski suit that is decorated with cream fringe. Or bundle up in the intergalactic red and blue padded vest—the dreamy mix of planets, stars and moons will make you feel out of this world. Keep your hands warm with fleece-lined gloves that are water-resistant and wind repellant. But there are also items that are more blatant about the series intention. There are sweaters and beanies available that sport the Woodstock name.
