’47 Commemorates Three Legacy NHL Franchises With An Exclusive Capsule Collection

In honor of the brand’s 75th anniversary, the house drops a limited-edition collection applauding the Boston Bruins, Chicago Blackhawks, and the New York Rangers.

Showcasing three of the most celebrated franchises in NHL history, ‘47’s launches its exclusive collection in honor of its 75th anniversary. Known as the ultimate source of fan gear since 1947 – hence “’47”, the capsule features the New York Rangers, Boston Bruins, and the Chicago Blackhawks. Intricately detailed and imbued with love, the limited edition collection spotlights ’47 Sigma tees and matching ’47 HITCH caps for each team – only 75 pieces of each style are available.

First up is the Boston Bruins. Founded in 1924 as one of the NHL’s first expansion teams, the Bruins were the first NHL franchise based in the United States, having moved to Boston Garden in the fall of 1928. They won their first Stanley Cup that season. The Bruins ’47 Sigma tee honors the six-time NHL champions with six stars representing each Stanley Cup win. The front of the tee features the team’s secondary logo during the “Big Bad Bruins” era, while the back of the tee lists their six cup-winning seasons around a center-ice graphic.

The Chicago Blackhawks is another member of the NHL’s “Original Six.” After moving to the newly constructed Chicago Stadium in 1929, the Blackhawks won their first Stanley Cup in 1934. Led by four future Hall of Famers, the Blackhawks achieved their most tremendous success with three Stanley Cup victories in five years for a total of six overall. The Blackhawks ’47 Sigma tee celebrates their home for over six decades, Chicago Stadium. The front features the team’s crossed tomahawks shoulder patch and text containing the stitches of a vintage goalie mask. The rear depicts the arena with the dates of the Hawks’ residency and six stars from the Chicago city flag representing each of their six Stanley Cup wins.

Lastly is the New York Rangers. Founded in 1926, among the “Original Six,” the team won their first Stanley Cup during their second season, becoming the first NHL franchise in the U.S. to win the Cup. Known as “The Broadway Blueshirts,” the Rangers went on to win two more championships in 1933 and 1940. The Rangers ’47 Sigma tee commemorates the Rangers’ impressive 1994 Stanley Cup win. The front of the tee celebrates the return of the Cup to The Garden, highlighted by that season’s Finals logo and the championship year written in the diagonal of the Rangers jersey. The rear of the shirt displays the Rangers’ shield stylized in the metallic silver of the Stanley Cup. The matching Rangers ’47 HITCH is quality-constructed from stone-washed black corduroy and embellished with embroidered details.
