For the eighth (and maybe final) collection in its Moncler Genius series, the Italian makers of street-infused skiwear are catching a new wave. The 8 Moncler Palm Angels collection embodies the dramatic shapes and bold graphics for which both labels are known, delivering radioactive color codes and Japanese-inspired silhouettes. A riff on the so-called “merch gear” craze—utilitarian staples as collectibles—the capsule's spirit is surf-goth meets ski-bum, with red and blacks splashed across a range of materials like nylon and acetate. In addition to out-there silhouettes like belted puffer vests and Velcro sandals, catchy slogans like “Make It Rain” and “I’m So High” raise the collection's going-viral potential.

The collection also bears a skyscraper logo signifying the just-launched Moncler Temp Store project, two new pop-up stores in Tokyo and New York respectively that pay homage to the previous seven Moncler Genius collections, including viral collaborations with Craig Greene and Simone Rocha. “A curated project like Moncler Genius is akin to a living museum of contemporary creativity,” says Palm Angels designer Francesco Ragazzi in a press release. “It needs a gift shop in order to spread the message virally and I am here to provide that.” The collaboration will be on shelves until late 2018.
