Desire, erotic, subversion, brazen, sensual, free, and proud are just a few of the descriptives used to reflect this collection. In the spirit of freeing yourself and others, Andrea Adamo continues on the theme we’ve seen a lot of this season: playing with the concepts of gender to create something new and fresh. Its femininity flirting with masculinity, desire fighting passion, need contrasting want, darkness submerging light.
Adamo brings to life a self-portrait that he has in mind, describing it, “Her hand in her hair, erotic gaze. Pure desire.” This collection intensifies and amplifies the sense of womanhood, serving as an ode to all women.
The more masculine details in the looks, whether it’s the careful tailoring or the pieces paired with cargo shorts/knee-length trousers, drive home the idea of desire, muddying the suggestive waters. All details are in an effort to broaden shoulders, draw attention to the waist, or take on a second-skin quality.
The iconic ANDREĀDAMO silhouettes show up in knitwear with a new X-Ray stitch, while see-through ribbing emulates desire in mini-dresses, tops, and leggings. Textiles like sequins, fringes, and leather come out to play to show the essence of the collection in shades of ivory, black, and classic khaki and eros.
