A-COLD-WALL* Collaborates with Dr. Martens
The two lifestyle brands continue their partnership to create new versions of Dr.Martens’ best-selling styles.
Dr. Martens and A-COLD-WALL* are all about a rebellious attitude, constructed designs and architectural forms. Together, they have confronted the status quo by redefining traditional workwear and subcultural style for those “who refuse to assimilate to the mainstream.” In their latest collaboration, the two brands have figured out how to push these parameters even further by giving Dr. Martens’ famous 1460 boot and 1461 shoe a whole new look.
Since their first collaboration in 2020, A-COLD-WALL* founder Samuel Ross has “consistently deconstructed and elevated the Original Icons” of Dr. Martens, stepping outside both brand’s DNAs. Ross’ second collaboration with the footwear brand continues with this idea in their second collaboration, but this time, A-COLD-WALL* will be using the new double-height Bex Neoteric sole–”a takedown of the Quad Neoteric platform launched last year.”
The Bex Neoteric sole is lightweight, and has a two-part construction with deep cleating and deconstructed detailing. Remaining with the design seen in previous collaborations, the 1460 boot and 1461 shoe will have their well-recognized pointed, angular features in a smooth black leather. Both silhouettes are enclosed in ghillie lacing, a contrast to Dr. Martens’ origins, and reflective panels with A-COLD-WALL* branding. The collaboration also includes yellow welt stitching and “a black and yellow AirWair heel loop,” creating a unique utilitarian style that is both functional and consistent with what the two brands are known for.
