In the heart of Milan, Montblanc invited guests on an extraordinary cinematic journey to celebrate the global debut of its latest short film, Let’s Write—a continuation of the Maison’s creative partnership with visionary filmmaker Wes Anderson. The film premiered worldwide on June 19th, expanding Anderson’s whimsical take on Montblanc’s universe, blending storytelling, humor, and unexpected twists through his signature lens.
Co-directed by Roman Coppola and produced by Jeremy Dawson and John Peet, the short film assembled a powerhouse creative team: Darius Khondji behind the camera, Adam Stockhausen and Stephan Gessler leading production design, and Milena Canonero overseeing costume design.

The plot picks up where last year’s story left off, unfolding across a series of surreal settings—from the Montblanc Observatory High-Mountain Library to the Voyage of Panorama, a staged train car traveling through imagined landscapes. Throughout the film, Montblanc creations take center stage, including the Portable Writing Table, the Writing Traveler Bag, and the Schreiberling—a fountain pen designed by Wes Anderson himself.

The evening began at Milan’s majestic Central Station, where guests boarded a chartered Montblanc train and arrived at Squadra Rialzo Centrale—a historic train depot transformed into a cinematic departure hall. Inside, a candlelit dinner set between vintage carriages created an atmospheric lead-up to the film’s premiere screening. In attendance were cast members Rupert Friend, Waris Ahluwalia, and Esther McGregor, joined by global ambassadors Joey King and Daniel Brühl, regional faces Seo Kangjun, Kerem Bürsin, and Alfonso Herrera, as well as VMAN 54 cover star Cooper Koch.

The evening also marked a new chapter for Montblanc, as the Maison unveiled its first-ever runway presentation. Midway through the night, models stepped off the train, debuting a capsule collection of 16 looks. At the heart of the presentation were a series of statement leather jackets, crafted under the vision of Artistic Director Marco Tomasetta.

Since joining the brand in 2021, Tomasetta has drawn inspiration from the house’s rich archives, previously translating the motif into accessories like the Writing Traveler Bag. With this capsule, the concept comes to life in a new form: leather jackets that embody the spirit of the Montblanc desk, now reinterpreted as wearable design.

“I was deeply inspired by the Maison’s Hamburg archive that I have been closely studying for the past four years. It has pushed me to constantly think of new and original ways to bring the world of writing to closer to our customers and their hearts,” Marco Tomasetta said in an official statement. “This expression of Montblanc heritage is the most intimate yet, something you can carry on your body and something that literally becomes part of you.”
