A Look Back at Baby Phat’s Most Iconic 2000s Looks

With a relaunch slated for this summer, we look back at the vintage Baby Phat looks that epitomized 2000s fashion.

Before there was Fashion Nova, there was Baby Phat. In an age where Paris Hilton ruled the nightlife scene, lowrise jeans were all the rage, and phones still flipped, the women’s streetwear brand epitomized everything to love about early 2000s fashion. Now, the iconic brand is set for a relaunch. This summer, Kimora Lee Simmons Leissner, the original creator and creative director of the brand between 2000 and 2010, will relaunch Baby Phat as an ode to 2000s style with a modern flair.

Leissner described the relaunch’s vision as a return to “mainstream sportswear,” with a focus on iconic brand logos that have resurfaced as a fashion trend in recent years. Kimora Lee also said in a press statement that she plans to dig deep into her personal archive to draw inspiration for the brand’s relaunch — a notion that excites and entices the 2000s party girl in all of us.

In honor of the retro-inspired relaunch of Baby Phat, we took a look back at a few iconic Baby Phat looks that defined over-the-top 2000s fashion trends. From bedazzled pink flip-phone cases to rhinestoned tees, the cult brand combined effortless feminine sex appeal with a streetwear edge. It’s truly no wonder that we’re all coming back for more.
