Taking effect on January 1, 2026, the transition follows a long-term succession plan built on clarity of roles and the steady evolution of the Group. Gildo Zegna, who will move from Group Chairman and CEO to Group Executive Chairman, will focus on protecting the identity and integrity of the Group’s three brands: ZEGNA, Thom Browne, and TOM FORD FASHION. He will also continue to oversee key areas such as the textile division, legal and internal audit, and the External Relations department.

A central part of this transition is the appointment of fourth-generation family members. Edoardo Zegna as Chief Marketing and Digital Officer and Group Chief Sustainability Officer, will lead brand strategy, image, marketing, and design in partnership with Artistic Director Alessandro Sartori. While, Angelo Zegna, CEO of ZEGNA’s EMEA region and Global Client Strategy Director, will direct product development, merchandising, and commercial strategy across all markets.

Gianluca Tagliabue, currently CFO and COO, will assume the role of Group CEO. After ten years of leading major internal transformations, he will now guide overall strategy, reinforce the integration of the Group’s corporate functions, and supervise global manufacturing. In light of this, Gildo Zegna described the transition as a deliberate effort to prepare the company for the future and support the next generation. He emphasized his continued commitment to guiding the Group’s vision while remaining closely involved in the textile platform that shaped its origins.
