For Chanel Fall/Winter 2026, Matthieu Blazy treated transformation as a form of continuity. The caterpillar’s metamorphosis into a butterfly became the season’s central symbol. Working from Gabrielle Chanel’s archive, Blazy allowed familiar house codes to change shape without losing their identity.

The campaign brought that evolution into focus. Photographed by Julien Martinez Leclerc, it featured Awar Odhiang, Bhavitha Mandava, Noor Khan, Trinidad Castaño, Xiuli Jiang, Imane Benkaddour, Julia Morais, Adeng Marial, Lais Hames, Stephanie Cavalli, and Anne Vyalitsyna, while Stuart Winecoff directed the accompanying film.

The suit became the clearest expression of that idea. Proportions shifted, silhouettes loosened, and familiar materials moved into unexpected territory. Ribbed knits and beaded weaves sat alongside tweed thinned into gauze, while Lurex and silicone took on the broad gestures of action painting.

The jacket changed character from look to look as Blazy drew on a century of Chanel history and the sharper construction of menswear. It appeared as a zip-front trucker in marine rib knit and as a bomber in checked suede or wool. Overskirts were layered over tailoring, and collars were raised to reinforce the collection’s sense of movement. In one look, a tailored blazer was softened by a silk-and-jersey skirt worn low on the hip. Its proportions recalled Gabrielle Chanel’s earliest collections, while a trompe l’oeil construction made the blazer and skirt appear as one.

The theme of transformation continued through color and surface. Pastels and iridescent tones gave the collection an Impressionist quality, while sequins, silk, and gauze translated organic forms into deliberately artificial surfaces. Florals appeared across dresses, earrings, and bags.

For accessories, jewelry and tinted mother-of-pearl added a handcrafted quality, while two-tone leather boots grounded the looks in everyday wear. The large flap bag introduced in October returned in embossed leather, connecting the collection to Blazy’s first season at the house.

To mark the collection, Chanel hosted a party inside Gabrielle Chanel’s apartment at 31 Rue Cambon in Paris.
