As the clock struck 8:30 pm at the Tennis Club de Paris, AMI’s Fall-Winter 2024 collection, a creation of 43 years of life and 25 years in fashion, unfolded as a personal narrative by Alexandre Mattiussi, the creative director behind the in-demand label.
Referring to this latest release as the “wisdom collection,” a reflection of Mattiussi life brings us along for a visual spectacle that also serves as an homage to his life’s journey. The Parisian runway venue evoked a sense of nostalgia with its 1930s ambiance, as models were illuminated to symbolize the awakening of Paris in the early morning. The structured silhouettes done in earthy color tones represented both day and night, zoning in on the classic elegance of the French city.
Featuring defined silhouettes with sharp lines and petite proportions, the collection’s color palette includes classic tones like black, grey, and navy blue, alongside variations of brown and beige. The collection also introduces iconic bags, including bowling and versatile bucket bags. Notably, designs from the Déjà Vu line make a return while the unisex range of vegetal leather goods emerges from the Paris Paris line.
AMI’s accessories for the collection featured strass necklaces and chunky gold buttons for added glamour, as the footwear stood out with a signature striped heels in alternating black and wood, while the lifestyle items, from sunglasses to socks, hats, and scarves, reflected AMI’s energetic spirit.
“The collection is authentic and self-assured, it marks a transition by reaffirming how AMI expresses elegance and refinement. It is never pretentious, always generous, well-crafted and of finest quality. I love new beginnings, and this Fall-Winter 24 brings a sense of renewal. It is like the start of a new day, when Paris awakens, when beauty is everywhere, and anything is possible!“
