With multiple collaborations under their belts, Stone Island and New Balance have unveiled their newest creation to their long-term partnership.
The brands have reunited to create a non-traditional shoe design that showcases the harmonious combination of human-made and natural materials—the Stone Island x New Balance Tokyo Design Studio “FuelCell C_1”.
The bridge between the two worlds consists of manufactured synthetic with cotton engineered in one knit. Complementing the innovative construction, the sneaker incorporates synthetic overlays and a magnetic closure speed lacing system for added functionality.
Drawing inspiration from non-traditional forms, the shoe’s bottom showcases a design resembling an unclosed infinity sign, accented by intricate details reminiscent of tree rings. The back of the shoe extends outward, like the handholds of a rock climbing wall, while featuring the iconic Stone Island compass motif. Available in two striking colorways—gold and white, and military green and maroon—the collaboration bears a graphic pattern inspired by the archival Stone Island camouflage of Autumn Winter ‘90.
Without surprise, every pair released from the brands’ long-term partnership has sold out almost immediately, reappearing on resale platforms at double the retail price within a matter of hours. Expect nothing less for this upcoming launch.
Available on stoneisland.com and in select Stone Island stores starting July 25th.
