Abigail Smith is Named Creative Director of Maison Kitsuné

The British designer’s first collection with the brand will appear at Paris Fashion Week

With its Spring/Summer 2026 collection set to debut at Paris Fashion Week, Maison Kitsuné has announced Abigail Smith as the brand’s new creative director. The British designer previously worked at Calvin Klein, Celine, Chloé, Burberry, and Stella McCartney.

“We are delighted to welcome Abigail Smith as our new Creative Director. In her mission she is redefining the Maison Kitsuné silhouette. Through her talent and expertise, and in close collaboration with our Paris atelier, she is crafting a fresh and modern Parisian wardrobe — opening the next chapter of our House,” co-founders Gildas Loaëc and Masaya Kuroki said in a statement.

Maison Kitsuné fuses fashion, a music label, and a global café chain. Known for its signature fox logo — “Kitsune” is the Japanese word for “fox” — the house has already carved out a recognizable niche for itself.

“I have always admired Maison Kitsuné for its ability to blend fashion, music, and culture into a singular art de vivre. My vision is to create a contemporary, functional wardrobe that reflects Parisian elegance while honoring the brand’s Paris-Tokyo identity,” Smith said in a statement.

Having grown up in Sheffield, England, Smith was influenced by local rave culture and the natural beauty of the Peak District. Her cross-disciplinary approach to design made her a natural fit for the house, which began as a Parisian music label.

Smith’s first collection with Maison Kitsuné will be available in stores and online beginning in early 2026.
