“What does inspiration feel like?” That’s the question adidas Originals has set out to answer with their new Fall/Winter 2021 Forum Collection. In this reimagining of the iconic adidas Forum silhouette, adidas has sourced both inspiration from and collaboration with British rapper slowthai and Filipina-British singer/songwriter Beabadoobee. 

The Forum sneaker, which has been a mainstay of streetwear since it first debuted in 1984, has been seen on the likes of Bella Hadid and Kendall Jenner. Now, the sneaker brand aims to recontextualize the shoe by introducing three new and distinct adaptations of its iconic silhouette, placing it at the forefront of conversations around cultural transformation. adidas says that the collection is aimed at serving as “a celebration of those who turn an open mind into a way of life.” 

The collection aims to celebrate young leaders who are transforming style and cultural trends on a daily basis. They pay tribute to the timeless adidas Original Forum sneaker by modernizing their Mid and Low styles while keeping the shoe’s iconic blue and white colorway. The new styles stay true to the original spirit of their 1984 launch, while making some modern upgrades to them: “Forum Exhibit Low features all the sneaker’s classic elements wrapped into a low profile look, matched with a removable strap, a luxe white leather upper with red accents and navy blue details, as well as a court-ready rubber outsole. Meanwhile, the Forum Exhibit Mid comprises a similar approach, this time in a mid-cut silhouette, and is available in a striking pastel blue colorway. The iconic Forum Low rounds out the collection, elevating the sneaker’s classic look with a basketball-inspired white, navy, red, and yellow colorway.”
