adidas Skateboarding has served the skating community since 1998 – providing both footwear and apparel options and supporting professional and amateur skateboarders. Amongst this group of skateboarders is Mark Gonzales, also referred to as “Gonz” or “The Gonz,” who began his skateboarding journey at the age of 13 and was named one of “The 30 Most Influential Skaters of All Time” in 2011.

Tailored towards skate, the new shoe collaboration is a take on the classic adidas Superstar, which recently celebrated its 50th anniversary, and aims to combine comfort and durability. The Superstar ADV boasts a full-grain leather upper, rubber toecap, and pronounced nubuck patches in the figure of “Shmoo” birds – character art by Gonzales.

The “Shmoo” bird patches are incorporated onto the shoe in varying neon hues, adding a pop of color and a personal touch of Gonzales to the otherwise all black exterior.
