adidas Skateboarding is partnering with global Pro team rider Blondey for an all-new A.B. adidas by Blondey collection. The collection is inspired by Blondey’s native London, and more specifically the British football (read: soccer) culture in the ’80s, fused with terrace fashion.

“A lot of people think that us skaters shouldn’t be interested in anything other than skating,” says Blondey. “I don’t feel that way. I feel the opposite, and hope that this continued partnership with adidas shows that.”

The collection prioritizes functionality, though infused by Blondey’s creative vision, his signature label Thames, and adidas archival silhouettes, it’s also incredibly stylish. The centerpiece of the collection is the A.B. Gazelle Indoor by Blondey, his modernized take on adidas’ classic Gazelle shoe.

“All of my favorite skaters have borrowed from other sports and cultures—Mark Gonzales in his fencing shoes, for example,” says Blondey. “I’m more interested in making the Gazelle, an indoor football shoe, skateable than I am in making skate shoes. That’s why I skate for adidas.” The new Gazelle shoes reference Blondey’s earlier version of the adidas Superstar, and will be released in two colorways: grey/grey/gum and miner blue/black/silver. Each shoe will also have the name “Blondey” embossed in silver foiling on the side.

The A.B Blondey collection also includes apparel, designed to embody Blondey’s personal style. Crafted around an archival adidas jacket from his own wardrobe, the A.B. Jousting Jacket has a reflective outer shell, and a sustainable Primegreen and performance AEROREADY technology lining. Other items in the collection include a classic adidas track top with a crew sweater and a contrasting collar, a prime reference to the adidas heritage football jerseys from the ’80s. The collection also includes a sherpa fleece sweater with matching shorts, and mock-neck long sleeve A.B. Solar Jacquard Jersey, which sports Blondey’s signature Thames collection outline artwork.

The apparel collection, as well as the A.B. Gazelle Indoor by Blondey in miner blue/black/silver is available today on www.adidas.com/skateboarding and in specialty skate retailers worldwide. The A.B. Gazelle Indoor by Blondey in grey/grey/gum are available on the adidas CONFIRMED app.
