adidas x Pharrell Williams Rework SolarHu in Greyscale

This collaboration has been marked by color, but now their SolarHu sneaker comes in 4 tones of greyscale.

The collaboration between superproducer Pharrell Williams and adidas has always focused on color. It can’t get much more colorful than the original collection they released last year, inspired entirely by the Holi Festival. So, much to monochrome streetwear fans’ delight, adidas and Pharrell took a new approach to their sneaker line by scaling back to the basics. For Summer 2019, this collab is releasing their SolarHu silhouette in four tones of greyscale.

Now in white, cream, grey and black, the adidas x Pharrell Williams SolarHu is changing focus. Before, it was about the loud, vibrant hues in which you could dress your feet, but now, it’s about the color your inner self can emit. Using Olympic medalist Tori Bowie as a spokesperson, these shoes emphasize the power of one’s “inner light”. After all, it was Bowie’s strength and perseverance that propelled her towards excellence, not the color of her shoes. Each of the four tones have the same SolarHu shape. The toe of the shoe is made with mesh and embroidered with the word “Hu” in felt. The shoes come with color-matched laces and a rubber outsole.

The adidas by Pharrell Williams SolarHu Greyscale collection will be available July 20, 2019. You can view the shoes below.
