After 42 Years. M·A·C Cosmetics Joins Sephora in the U.S.

Julia Fox, Myha’la, and “The Traitors” star Rob Rausch step out to celebrate its highly anticipated Sephora debut in New York City

M·A·C Cosmetics is officially entering a new era. After 42 years in the beauty industry, the iconic brand celebrated its long-awaited Sephora U.S. debut with an exclusive launch event in New York City. Hosted by M·A·C’s Global Creative Director Nicola Formichetti, the immersive evening turned a former taxi garage into a nostalgic New York–inspired playground. Inside, guests explored interactive installations inspired by city life and Sephora “car hauls.” Meanwhile, discovering the new M·A·C x Sephora campaign starring Chappell Roan, Gabbriette, and Quenlin Blackwell.

Earlier that day, M·A·C sparked online buzz with a shirtless Instagram selfie from The Traitors star Rob, featuring the phrase “MAC is at Sephora” written across his chest in the brand’s signature lipstick. The image was posted with the caption, “MAC is officially at @sephora. @robert_rausch is going. See you there?” and quickly gained traction online. Later that evening, Rob brought the moment to life in Times Square.

Julia Fox, Myha’la, and True Whitaker were among the guests in attendance as DJs Rae Sada and Livwutang set the soundtrack for the evening. Later in the evening, darkwave duo Boy Harsher took the stage for a live performance. M·A·C products are now officially available in Sephora stores nationwide and on sephora.com. This marked a major milestone for the legendary beauty brand as it reached a new generation of shoppers.
