Air Dior Release Date Postponed Due To COVID-19

Dior Oblique Swooshes at a later date.

Anticipation for the Air Dior has been scaling since it walked down the runway in January’s Dior Men’s Fall 2020 show. Alas, a cross-pollination of luxury fashion and street style attune to one another, as much-hyped up as it was nostalgic.

Today, in light of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global drawing for the Dior x Nike Air Jordan 1 has been indefinitely postponed; a new release date will be scheduled in the coming weeks. Nike put forth a statement explaining the postponement to be in accordance with international health precautions and in an effort to protect all consumers and collaborators. Likewise, the global outbreak of Coronavirus has shelved the openings of exclusive pop-up and pop-in locations that the drawing would have granted access to. The savoir-faire of Christian Dior and the extensive heritage of Nike will come to fruition in time just not necessarily in the foreseeable future. “Jordan Brand and Dior are both emblematic of absolute excellence in their fields,” said Kim Jones, Artistic Director of Dior men’s collections. “To bring them together in this special collaboration is to propose something exciting and truly new.” Given the tectonic shift of our current climate, that sentiment isn’t lost on consumers, yet merely enforced.
