Alaïa Launches Latest Line of Versatile Knits

New “Relax line”

Azzedine Alaïa steps into spring with a collection of basics. Originally introduced back in 1992, by Alaïa himself, this new lineup revives innovative fabric created by Florentine spinner Leineapiù, made to ensure comfort, freedom of movement and well-being. Presented as the “Yarn of Serenity,” the material is expected to fit like a second skin—in keeping with the Maison’s ethos for empowering and accentuating the female form.

This relaxed and protective stretch fiber takes the shape of 10 pieces. The wardrobe of essentials arrives in black and garnet red, fitted to hug in all the right places, enhancing all body shapes while maintaining ultimate comfort. In tune with the Maison signature stylings, the line is highlighted by exposed seams and embroidered details. Expect a clean-cut, sculpted silhouette.

Artisans of Alaïa take their mastery into new realms of ready-to-wear. “A garment is like a second skin, a suit of armor to express myself free,” shares Letizia Galloni of the Opéra de Paris, who models the collection alongside Hajiba Fahmy, contemporary dancer, and friend of the brand. Photographers, Billy Ballard and Louis Evennou capture these two free spirits, moving harmoniously to the warm rhythm of Ya Man Hawa by Bedouin Burger.

Launched alongside the Relax collection, Alaïa and Martine de Richeville will offer Paris’ mind and body guru’s signature “Reshaping of the body” treatment. Available as of the end April in Paris’ 8th arrondissement at the Alaïa boutique. De Richeville’s manual and natural technique is favored amongst the French capital’s elite, with the intention of redrawing the silhouette, toning body tissues and re-connecting positively to the body.
